THE INTERVIEW STAGE: NOT SURE WHAT TO ASK YOUR EMPLOYER?

Below are some questions you can use and adapt to ask your interviewer:

It is great when the interview process is a conversation between yourself and the interviewer, allowing both parties to ask questions and respond throughout the interview. At the end of the interview, the interviewer will ask if you have any further questions, which may be difficult to think of because of nerves and high-pressure and you may have already asked everything you had planned during the interview. However, asking questions demonstrates your interest and you also need to make sure this company is right for you. So even if you have asked your planned questions already throughout the interview, highlight this to the interviewer and explain how you feel about the answers- have they made you feel more excited about the role, for example?

Why are you proud to work here?

What will my first week at work look like?

Can you walk me through what a typical working day will be?

What is your work culture like?

How is employee feedback incorporated in the day to day?

How do you evaluate employee performance?

Can you tell me about the team I will be working with?

What is your favourite thing about working here?

What are the next steps of this process?

Where do you think the company is heading in the next five years?

What will my first week at work look like?

Do you think the responsibilities of this role will change in the next year?

What values does the company promote?
