THE APPLICATION PROCESS: ENHANCING YOUR CV

At Rygor, your application provides us with the first impression of you. This is your chance to demonstrate the value you can bring to our team and company. We understand that it can be challenging to know where to start, so we have compiled resources and support to help you create a strong application and maximise your chances of success.

TYPES OF CVS

Depending on your professional experience and skills, you can adopt a different format of CV to present yourself as best as possible.

Chronological CV

This format of CV lists employment history in reverse chronological order, starting with the most recent.  This structure is great for candidates with a strong work history or those who want to showcase their career progression. This is the most used format for CVs.

Combined CV

This format of CV focuses on skills and experiences rather than employment history. This format is great for candidates with gaps in employment, or those with varied work experiences.

Functional CV

This format combines both the chronological and functional CV structure. Skills and achievements are listed, then followed by employment history. This CV format is great for candidates with both a strong skill set and employment history.

APPLICATION TOP TIPS

Tip One

When applying for multiple positions, it can be easy to forget which companies you’ve applied to. To stay organised and prepared for any communication with potential employers, keep a record on your phone or in a notebook of the companies and roles you’ve applied for.

Tip Two

Tailor your CV and application to each specific company and role. Avoid submitting generic applications; personalising them will help you stand out to employers.

Tip Three

Always answer the phone professionally and respectfully, as it may be a potential employer reaching out. This will help you make a positive first impression.
